View Article  Our 3rd Anniversary
Today for our anniversary I went with Brian to work and hung out in the back of the Limahuli Valley.  We weeded some and then went down to the house for a big lunch.  They had planned it as a going away party, there was so much food.  (Brian especially like the 'ava brownies)  It has been a great day and we can't believe it has been 3  years already.  Thank you for all your love, support, and encouragement.  We love you guys!  And I think next year we need to have another boat day weekend!

Having read Blue Like Jazz in a compulsive gulp (thanks, Ben), I've been digesting the testimony over the past week or so- it's quite the statement.  Such an honest exploration of the hard  questions of Christianity, a discussion of the doubts and trials that come with the combination of religion and critical thinking, and the love and faith which shines ...   more »
View Article  Last week in Kauai
(this is Aud)

So this is my last week here in Kauai before I head back to Bellingham with the cat.  It is strange to think that I will get on a plane and not come back here.  I will miss the everyday sunshine and being able to go swim in the ocean when ever I like.  But I am ...   more »

Yesterday we celebrated our anniversary a little early by Kayaking the Napali Coast. We have wanted to do this since we came for our honeymoon, so with a great discount (one of the perks of working at the Hanalei Bay Resort) we went on the 18 mile adventure.  We left from Haena Park around 7:30 am with a group of ...   more »

View Article  Wicket the Hawaiian Cat
So if you were a cat in Kauai where would you sleep????  Well Wicket has spent his time sleeping on the bed under the sheets and quilt.  And now there is big clumps of cat fur in our bed!

Doesn't he look like he is loving it!

The funny thing about rain gear in the tropics is you sweat enough under the coat to get you just about as wet as if you never put on the sauna-suit in the first place... But it was a good day anyway. Much of the day was spent hunting down some outplanted Dellisia rhytidosperma, a species of bellflower that is extinct...   more »
View Article  Some news...good or bad depending on how you look at it.
While back in Bellingham for Aaron and Nichole's Wedding I had a interview at St. Joesph's with the float manager.  I interviewed with her in December and I would have gotten the job then but they went on a hiring freeze.  So it was a really easy interview and I pretty much had a pick of jobs.  I got offered ...   more »
View Article  Day 40
Yesterday the hospital rejected the nurses proposal.  As of right now there are no scheduled talks between the two.  I am supposed to call my manager when I return from Bellingham.  So the strike continues on.  Only 7 days until we are back!!!!!!!  Today is a beautiful day here, it rained (poured) the last 2 days.
